productivity

I have been moderately productive today and I feel I need to document this momentous occasion. I have embraced the mundane tasks of life, including flossing, and now I need to blog about it. Yesterday was mildly productive as well. Maybe I function quite all right in the cold after all.

Woke up at 5:30 am without an alarm. (that's super rare)
Finished putting laundry away.
Normal stuff, like shower and wear clothes.
Flossed. (I don't usually do this, especially at 6 am)
Blew out my hair, even utilizing the round brush.
Took a nap from 7-8 am. : )

Completed and efiled my 2008 tax return during lunch.

Went to the bank to invest my tuppence.

Bought bird food and a little hanging house to put it in.
And remembered the song, "Feed the Birds" That song is always in my head when I'm anywhere near bird seed.

Did some Kroger shopping.
Visited the Secretary of the State.
Spent way more than tuppence at Plum Market.
Installed the bird feeder on my deck : )
Practiced playing the guitar, but only briefly.

Reviewed my last study on the Tabernacle in preparation for the next Tabernacle study meeting, which is based on a slightly different perspective than what I had previously studied. I'm still not sure I like how the pastor is teaching it or maybe it's his attitude. Whatever it is, something is off. It's a little too much like the preaching style I remember from the Assembly of God church I grew up in. So this time, I'm bringing my own outline and studying beforehand.

Interesting side story: A couple of weeks ago I was at home thinking "I need to revisit studying the Tabernacle and reviewing the study I did and complete the homework I skipped. But I don't feel motivated and it's boring to do this alone." I thought I would somehow make it to Starbucks and spend some hours doing this. That didn't happen. Suddenly, out of the blue, Angela texted me and asked if I wanted to have dinner and talk about the Tabernacle that night. That's pretty funny. Crazy timing. Who gets texts from their friends on weekends asking them to talk about the Tabernacle? So I figured, I was probably supposed to go. We've had a couple meetings so far. It's mostly been good, but I feel like something is missing. But I'm enjoying meeting together to study this.
They hope to foster a network of home churches in Michigan.

  1. Hey you're right about the tabernacle teaching. Actually there was nothing doctrinally inaccurate at the last one, but something is off- either in emphasis, or ... maybe the the rigidity of the metaphor. I think that's it. This is a metaphor- and a darn good one. In fact, a metaphor used throughout the new testament. But its like he's treating it like the 10 commandments or something writ in stone from the hand of God. No, metaphors are more flexible, you know? Oh, yeah. Thanks for letting us know that you flossed. We were all concerned.

  2. Last time I learned more about the symbolism of the entrance and the colors used and how that is a metaphor for the 4 gospels, and that was actually fascinating. But I really can't stand went pastors start declaring that other churches are backslidden, in fact pretty much all the churches he knows...and I don't remember what else.

Just so you know, those people didn't show last time weren't hungry enough for the Word. The snow was a trial and those who weren't there aren't hungry for the Word. (nevermind that no one knew that it was a 10 week series when they came to the first one)

Angela always gets very upset every time I tell her I don't floss. And she tells me all about floss and the floss with teflon, etc. So I wrote about flossing with the floss she gave me.
